Already in her childhood it was very clear to Mariam Buzhgulashvili to become a professional violinist. Her passion for music revealed itself when she first attended a concert by the local orchestra where she listened to Beethoven violin concerto. She initiated her education at Tbilisi musical gymnasium at age of 9, and by the end of her first year, she was invited to perform with Tbilisi symphony orchestra her first solo concert. Soon after that she was invited to join the Music academy of Ingolstadt in Germany.
During her academiccourse, she became a prize winner at “European Union Music Competition of Youth” and a finalist of “Georgian National Music Competition”.
After graduating Tbilisi State Conservatoire, Mariam has developed her studies further, to Germany and Poland, where she was a grant winner to study at I.J. Paderewski Academy of Music. Here she had several solo performances and participated in many orchestra collaborations, including “Chicago jazz Philarmonic” conducted by Orbert Davis.
After being accepted at Conservatorium Maastricht, Netherlands, Mariam won a position at the orchestra Philharmonie Zuidnederland, and also became actively engaged with solo and string quartet performances thorough Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Luxembourg. She performed together with conductors such as Roberto Benzi and violinist Boris Belkin. During this period, Mariam had the opportunity to improve her knowledge with world famous soloists Sergey Kravchenko, Marina Iashvili, Lisa Batiashvili.
Since 2015 Mariam has been pursuing her music career in United Arab Emirates as an educator and performer. In 2021 Mariam won a position as a violinist at Firdaus Orchestra, a women’s ensemble in the UAE with Oscar-winner A.R. Rahman, where she continues her work till now.
